The Role of Vice Chancellor
The Vice Chancellor’s principal duty is to serve as the Acting Chancellor in the event of inactivity leave or unavailability. Outside of this the Vice Chancellor plays an active role in forming and executing policies as delegated by the Chancellor.
The Vice Chancellor is currently responsible for overseeing the following areas of Government Policy on behalf of the Chancellor:
- The “Civil” Ministries (MoEA, MoCA, ISKRA, MoCE),
- Economic and Financial Policy, including the Bank;
- Legislative Policy
The Vice Chancellor is also a statutory member of the National Security Council, the Senate and the Cabinet Security Commission.
